Let me extract a fragment of my mind

To see what comes or falls behind

What will I notice or befriend?

Might I wonder or defend?

Will she lock and shield away

or come forth in strength and stay?

My love, I hope we rest and find

the peace we need

the space to unwind

May our burdens melt and fall away

To fill our hearts

at least for a day

Let us silence the woes

Awaken the laughter

For now in time

I am the master

For whatever comes next

and whatever stays
