Neglected Beauty

A sunflower's beauty
Common and simple
The air we breathe
Not noticed by people
The trees bounty
Tall and hard to see
The soil beneath
The last to be free
A smile's warmth
Unique and frail
How easy it is to stray
From happiness's trail
Perspective is needed
To view what is here
What is now and what is not
The small curse of the seer

This poem is beautiful, observant and true to the nature of the poet--"the seer." The vision is clear and inspiring. To see nature and life clearly and to craft it into art is a gift not easily expressed and is a gift that is the artist's essential burden to carry, "the small curse of the seer."
